In this painting I’ve titled “Showtime” I set out to portray a large reclusive whitetail buck in a late season autumn backdrop who’s just committed to revealing himself and stepping out from cover.
In this moment, the buck has committed, perhaps being lured by a group of does or another male infringing on his territory he steps out. He’s made his choice and is now fully committed to what happens next, which may include exposing himself to a hunter, any way you slice it, it’s Showtime!
